I hold a New York LCSW-R license and a New Jersey LCSW license and am available to provide individual and group supervision to social work and mental health counseling clinicians seeking supervision hours for licensure in both New York and New Jersey (I have completed the New Jersey course requirements for providing clinical supervision),
I have extensive experience providing training and clinical supervision at several agencies, including MHA of Westchester and VCS Inc. My work is primarily psychodynamic and informed by trauma-awareness, relational work and oppression analysis, but I work with clinicians on integrating narrative, CBT, schema, interpersonal, motivational interviewing, EFT, and other techniques. I currently supervise 25 people in both individual and group supervision each week.
I understand that each clinician will develop their own style and that what works for me does not necessarily work well for others based on their style. I therefore work to help people identify their style and which interventions feel like the best fit. I know that the work can often feel very heavy and that many new clinicians are also afraid of making mistakes. I believe it is rare that mistakes do any harm, and that most "mistakes" become opportunities for growth in the work for both the client and clinician. I therefore use a supportive and relational approach when working with perceived mistakes, teaching clinicians how to work through them with their clients, and use a lot of humor and my own experience with mistakes to lighten the supervision experience.
Please feel free to contact me to inquire about arranging supervision and rates.
